Traveling for treatment

Accelerated One-Day TMS in Steamboat Springs

Designed for out-of-town patients
Full course in one visit, not six weeks
Pairs with a mountain getaway

THE SHORT VERSION

The trip, in brief

Why travel

Complete your full TMS treatment course in a single day (or split across two consecutive days) instead of relocating for six to eight weeks.

Clinic location

Rising Psychiatry, 1205 Hilltop Parkway, Suite 202, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487.

How to get here

Fly directly into Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN), a 30-minute drive to town, or take a scenic 3-hour drive (157 miles) from Denver International Airport (DEN).

Rest & recreation

Pair your care with a trip to the mountains, skiing, hiking, biking, or relaxing at the local hot springs and spas before or after your session.

Follow-up

We partner directly with your existing healthcare providers back home to ensure a seamless transition and continuity of care.

Clinical transparency

Standard TMS devices are FDA-cleared for depression and anxiety. Delivering a full course in an accelerated, single-day protocol is an off-label delivery model grounded in recent neuroplasticity research.

Why travel

One day, not six weeks

Standard TMS protocols require patients to visit a clinic five days a week for 6 to 8 consecutive weeks. Uprooting your work, family life, or daily routine for a month and a half is simply not realistic for those living outside a major metro area.

Accelerated One-Day TMS condenses that timeline into a single, highly structured day. You plan one short trip, complete your protocol in a comfortable private setting, and return home to resume your life, saving significant time and life disruption.

The only clinic of its kind in the region

Rising Psychiatry is the only clinic in Colorado outside Denver offering One-Day TMS, and the only outpatient TMS provider in the mountain region.

Make a mountain getaway of it

Treatment built around recreation & rest

Because treatment takes just one day, it can fit into a broader trip to the Yampa Valley. Steamboat Springs offers a world-class mountain environment, giving you the space to recharge mentally and physically before or after your care.

  • Outdoor recreation

Ski or snowboard at Steamboat Ski Resort, mountain bike, or hike the alpine trails.

  • Rest & recovery

Unwind after treatment at Strawberry Park Hot Springs or a local spa.

  • Bring a companion

Friends and family can explore town, hit the slopes, or dine while you're in session.

Good to know before your visit

  • Arrive the day before

We strongly recommend arriving in Steamboat Springs the afternoon or evening before your appointment so you begin treatment well-rested.

  • Treatment day expectations

You will receive 20 brief stimulation sessions spaced by 30-minute rest intervals. By the end of the day, you will likely feel mentally tired - similar to how you feel after an intense day of studying or problem-solving.

  • Overnight recovery

Plan to stay in town the night of your treatment day rather than driving long distances or flying home immediately that evening.

How we assist with logistics

We help you plan your trip

When you schedule your free 15-minute consultation, we do more than review your clinical candidacy- we help you structure your visit:

Timing & scheduling

Aligning your treatment day with optimal travel and recreation windows.

Lodging recommendations

Pointing you toward quiet hotels, condos, or resorts near our Hilltop Parkway office.

Local ground transport

Helping you identify reliable shuttle services from Denver (DEN) or Hayden (HDN).

Continuity of care back home

Collaborative follow-up with your local team

You don't need to navigate your recovery alone once you leave Steamboat. Post-treatment check-ins occur at 2, 4, and 6 weeks, which can easily be conducted via remote telehealth visits.

More importantly, we believe in collaborative care. With your permission, we communicate directly with your primary care physician, psychiatrist, or therapist back home - sharing treatment summaries and aligning on long-term goals so your local team is fully equipped to support your ongoing progress.
